This set from Quinta Studio brings a colored cockpit interior printed by 3D technology on decal paper. It is neither a kit nor an airplane model, but a three-dimensional accessory intended for plastic models of the Ju 87B-2/R-2 in 1:48 scale. It contains instrument panels, side consoles, controls, belts and other small details, printed in color and ready to use. Dimensionally it follows the Hasegawa kit.
The Junkers Ju 87 Stuka was a German dive bomber of the Second World War, famous for its sirens and for accurate bomb release in a steep dive. The B-2/R-2 version was the long-range conversion able to carry drop tanks, which extended the range of the machine. Its typical features were the inverted gull wings and the fixed landing gear with aerodynamic wheel spats.
3D decals combine the relief of three-dimensional parts with the simplicity of applying a wet decal. The lengthy painting and the folding of multi-layer colored photo-etch both fall away. The part is dipped in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the paper onto the surface. It has no adhesive layer of its own, so the spot has to be coated with gloss varnish, and on shaped areas a drop of super glue will hold it. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as they attack the printed resin and ruin the element. We recommend checking the set against the cockpit of your particular kit beforehand and adjusting the mating surfaces if needed.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
