The Blackburn Buccaneer is a British twin-engine strike aircraft that was built from the start for penetration to the target at low altitude and high speed. The crew is a pair sitting one behind another, a pilot and a navigator. The S.2B version flew with the Royal Air Force. The cockpit is clearly visible under the glazing and empty tubs with smooth walls give a finished model away even in 1:72 scale.
Colored interior elements made by 3D printing, with a raised surface, so that the instruments, levers and panels have real relief and are not merely painted on. The elements are printed on carrier decal paper, from which they are transferred onto the model. They have no adhesive layer of their own: the part is cut out of the sheet, soaked for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slid off the paper into place. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution. The set is shaped for the kit from Airfix in 1:72 scale.
First rid the surfaces under the elements of flash and of molded detail, which would make a bump under the film, and paint them a dark shade. Because the element carries no glue of its own, it needs a glossy surface to take hold: coat the area with a gloss varnish of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type and let it cure. It pays off to degrease your hands as well, the printed color layer is sensitive to grease. Cut the individual parts out with a sharp blade, after soaking slide them off the paper into place with tweezers and press them down with a soft tool, so that they seat even in the recesses; in broken-up places a drop of super glue will help. Finish the interior before you close the fuselage.
For modelers who want both stations legible without laborious painting of tiny instruments with a brush. The interior elements alone are supplied. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
