Quinta Studio 1:48 Vought F4U-5 Corsair — a 3D-printed colored interior on decal paper equips the cockpit of a plastic model with relief, already painted instruments and panels. The base model is not included in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set aims at the late form of the Corsair, which differs from the wartime versions in the layout of the cockpit as well. The details are three-dimensionally printed and painted and are carried on decal paper — so they are transferred to the model by the wet method, not by gluing.
On a single-seat fighter the cockpit is the only interior space that stays visible once the build is finished. Series plastic parts tend to have the instrument panel only suggested by engraving, and the dials are then drawn in by hand. A colored relief decal gets around that step: the instruments have depth and definition straight away, even where a brush would have trouble reaching.
First spray the interior with a dark color and let it dry completely — a decal slides on fresh paint and may wrinkle. Cut precisely, soak briefly and let the piece soften on the paper, and only then slide it into place. Seat it with a damp brush from the center to the edges, so that no air is left under it. A decal softener and a setting solution do not belong here, as they would attack the printed resin. Once dry, even the cockpit out with a matte varnish and add only the details the set does not cover.
This is an accessory for a cockpit, not a kit of the aircraft. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
