The sheet 1:48 Growler Anthology Part V from Furball Aero-Design is devoted to the EA-18G electronic warfare machines in 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
Another part of the Furball Aero-Design decal series, this time on the theme of the Growler, the two-seat electronic warfare machine of the US Navy. The sheet is intended for models in 1:48 scale and supplements the markings that a kit usually offers in only a limited range.
The EA-18G derives from the two-seat version of the Super Hornet, but equipment for jamming and interception has replaced the internal cannon. On the wingtips it carries receiver pods, and jamming pods are hung under the fuselage and the wings. The crew consists of a pilot and a systems operator who assesses the electronic situation in the rear cockpit. The task of the machine is not to shoot down an opponent but to blind his radars and let the others get through.
Navy machines tend to be worn by service: salt spray, deck operations and frequent repairs leave stains and oversprayed areas. A model therefore looks more convincing when you do not apply the markings onto a perfectly new surface but add fine accenting of the panels. Lay the large insignia on the vertical tails onto a damp gloss surface, so that they can still be moved, and apply pressure from the center outward.
The package offered consists of decals. A model of the Growler and paints for it do not belong to it.
