1:48 Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat early LööK is a compact Eduard add-on set focused on the instrument panel in the cockpit of this carrier fighter. Made for a kit in 1:48; it is not a model of the aircraft.

The LööK line is Eduard's shortcut to a finished cockpit. Instead of putting small parts together you get a ready, fully colored instrument panel item that is simply seated into the model. The scope is deliberately narrow: the set does not aim at the whole cockpit or at the outer surfaces of the model, but concentrates on the place a viewer notices first.
Into the space directly in front of the pilot, that is onto the front wall of the cockpit. On the Wildcat the cockpit sits high and an open or slid-back canopy reveals practically the whole interior. Seating the panel accurately therefore decides the impression of the whole model more than detail that shows only from above at a sharp angle. The set is fitted before the fuselage halves are joined.
The F4F-3 was the early production version of the Wildcat carrier fighter with a fixed wing, still without the folding mechanism of the later variants. The word early in the name makes clear that the set matches the earlier production state, which differed from later machines in a number of details including the equipment of the cockpit.
Try the part dry first. The plastic panel from the kit usually has to be removed or thinned down so that the new item sits at the right depth, and do that work gradually rather than all at once. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue at a point; the gel version gives you time to line the position up. Do not clear coat the finished surface over, as the color finish is part of the set; apply any matte clear coat very lightly. Fill out the surrounding interior as you see fit, as the set does not cover all of it.
This is an add-on to a model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
