1:48 Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat Markings airbrush mask is a set of spraying masks from MH models for spraying the markings onto a model of the F4F-3 Wildcat carrier fighter. It is not a kit and not decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive spraying masks intended so that the markings of the aircraft are formed by sprayed paint rather than by sticking a decal on. The mask is transferred onto a painted model, sprayed over with the target shade and removed once dry. The result is part of the layer of paint, so no glossy carrier film is left on the surface and the markings will take rougher weathering too. The set is prepared for a model of the Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat in 1:48 scale, and the kit itself is not in the package.
The F4F-3 was the version of the Grumman Wildcat carrier fighter with a fixed, non-folding wing and a radial Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp engine. Machines of this version formed the backbone of the fighter units of the US Navy at the start of the fighting in the Pacific, where they relied on a robust structure, good toughness and heavy armament.
Let the paint under the mask cure for several days, because otherwise it peels when the mask is taken off. Degrease the surface, transfer the mask with tweezers and press the edges down carefully. On small insignia and lettering spray with heavily thinned paint and only in thin mists, because a heavy coat fills the fine detail and blurs the edge. Remove the mask soon after it has dried, retouch any shortcomings with a fine brush and finally unify the whole model with a clear varnish in the sheen you want.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
