A set of resin castings of the German Revi C/12D reflector gunsight in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand. The package contains six pieces, so it will do for several models or serve as a reserve in case such a small part is lost. It is not an aircraft model but an accurate cockpit accessory for experienced modelers that replaces the coarser gunsight from a kit with a fine casting with a faithful shape of the body and the reflector glass.
The Revi C/12D was a reflector gunsight used on German aircraft of the early and middle phase of the Second World War: you will find it among others on early versions of the Bf 109, on the Fw 190 and on the Ju 87 and Ju 88. The sight projected an aiming pattern onto a glass plate in front of the pilot and made aiming the onboard guns easier.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue. Separate the small castings carefully from the casting blocks with a sharp knife and clean up the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray the body in a dark shade and suggest the reflector glass with a glossy transparent layer. Because the parts are so small, work over a tray so that they do not get lost.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
