It is a classic injection-molded kit for gluing and painting. The contents of the package, the number of parts and the choice of decal schemes are given in the instructions supplied.
The H-34 is an American medium helicopter of the 1950s, recognizable at first glance by its tall fuselage and massive nose. Housed in the nose is a radial piston engine, which drives the four-blade main rotor above the cabin through an inclined shaft. That arrangement freed the whole center of the fuselage for a cargo hold, which is why the machine suited transport, insertion and rescue tasks. With the Navy it served among other things to protect flight operations and to lift people out of the water, for which a hoist by the side door was used. The type was built in many versions and flew with a number of countries.
The inside of the cabin and the floor of the cargo hold can be seen well on a helicopter with large doors, so paint and weather them before you glue the fuselage together. Mask the clear glazed nose with self-adhesive tape or with masks; varnish the cabin at the same time as the fuselage. The seams on the underside of the fuselage and on the engine cowling call for filling and sanding. Glue the rotor blades right at the end, as they break off easily. Before the decals, go over the areas with a gloss varnish compatible with the paint used, and once it is dry even the surface out with a matte or semi-gloss varnish. For naval machines a fine salt effect and scuffing around the step areas and the doors come in handy.
