Big Ed is a package from Eduard that brings several separate accessory sets together in a single box. This set is intended for detailing the plastic model of the Hawker Hunter FGA.9 in 1:48 scale and holds photo-etched parts (typically for the cockpit and the exterior) and painting masks for the glazing. It is an aftermarket accessory, not the kit of the aircraft itself.
The photo-etched parts refine and supplement detail that injection-molded plastic cannot capture as finely, for example the instrument panels, the seat, the belts and small external equipment. The masks enclosed make it easier to paint the canopy frames crisply. The exact make-up of the individual sub-sets follows the standard of the Big Ed range for this type.
Separate the photo-etched parts on a hard surface with a sharp knife, bend them in a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Pre-painted etch is applied only after the surrounding area has been painted. Press the masks down along the edges and paint in thin coats.
This is an accessory set for a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
