This is a standalone add-on set of photo-etched parts from the Eduard company, not an airplane model. In the STEEL range the belts are made of thin steel, pre-printed in color and given a self-adhesive layer. Steel sheet is more pliable than brass, so once bent a belt holds a realistic sag and looks more convincing than a plastic or cast part from the box.
The set replaces the kit seat belts in the cockpit and raises the level of detail of the seat considerably. It is intended for models of the British Hawker Hurricane Mk.I fighter in 1:48 scale. The color version means that the belts look good even without painting.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and shape the bends with tweezers or a photo-etch bending tool. The self-adhesive layer holds well, and on exposed joints a drop of super glue can be added. The transitions and the hardware can be gently picked out with a shade matching period harness straps.
