An injection-molded plastic kit of the British carrier fighter Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 in 1:48 scale from Trumpeter. It is a straightforward modern tooling with fine engraved detail, friendly even to a quicker build. The box holds plastic parts, clear cockpit parts and decals, so you can build a striking machine straight out of the box.
The Sea Fury was a British single-seat carrier fighter with a radial engine and ranked among the highest performing production propeller fighters ever built. The FB.11 version was the fighter-bomber variant for naval aviation. Sea Furies became famous above all in the Korean War, where they were among the rare propeller aircraft that managed to shoot down a jet machine. They served from the decks of British and friendly aircraft carriers.
Use liquid cement for plastic and finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage. The model makes it possible to show the wings folded for stowage on deck. Apply a primer before painting and put the paints on with an airbrush; masking the cockpit glazing is recommended. Dark blue naval schemes will stand out after fine accentuation of the panel lines and discreet weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
