Eduard 1:48 Henschel Hs 129B — STEEL Seatbelts are pre-colored etched steel seatbelts for the cockpit of a model of the German armored ground-attack aircraft. It is not an aircraft kit, but a detail accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
An etched set from the manufacturer Eduard with pilot's seatbelts for a model of the Henschel Hs 129B ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The belts are steel and pre-colored, so there is no tedious painting of the straps and buckles. The set is made for plastic Hs 129B kits from Hasegawa and Hobby 2000. This is not an aircraft model — the kit is not included in the package and is purchased separately.
Brass etched parts are soft and reluctant to hold a shape. Steel is springier and has significantly better shape memory — a belt can be draped over the seat edge, folded or lightly twisted, and it stays that way. For the Hs 129B this matters twice over: the cockpit is tiny, yet at the same time it is the most conspicuous detail of the whole interior.
The Henschel Hs 129B was a German armored ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War, designed to destroy tanks and ground targets. It carried heavy gun armament and had a heavily armored forward fuselage protecting the pilot. That protection came at a price, though: the cockpit was extremely cramped and visibility from it was poor, which complicated the pilot's work. The type saw its main combat use on the Eastern Front, where it operated against Soviet armor.
For Hs 129B builders who want a convincing cockpit without painting miniature straps, and for anyone who wants to try etched parts on an easy and rewarding accessory.
An accessory for modelers. This is not an aircraft kit — the plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
