An accurately turned metal gun barrel in 1:48 scale from Eduard, intended as a replacement for the plastic barrel on a model of the Hetzer tank destroyer. The metal part is perfectly straight, has a faithful muzzle profile and does away with the typical shortcomings of a split plastic barrel, the seam and the inaccurate alignment. It is not a vehicle model but a separate detailing accessory.
The Hetzer (Jagdpanzer 38(t)) was a light German tank destroyer of the end of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the Czechoslovak 38(t) type. Its main armament was an antitank gun of 7.5 cm caliber, whose barrel this part reproduces accurately.
Cut the original plastic barrel off and level the mating surface. Degrease the metal part, fit it and glue it with super glue. Metal holds paint better once a primer has been laid down; it is a good idea to bring the muzzle out with a dark shade and a light weathered effect.
The accessory is supplied as a turned metal part. The vehicle model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
