The Hetzer is a small tank destroyer built on the chassis of the 38(t) light tank. It has no rotating turret; the gun is mounted in a closed hull with steeply sloped sides, and the whole machine is strikingly low and narrow, which in defense gave it a good chance of staying unnoticed. After the war production continued for the Swiss army under the designation G-13. The Swiss machines served for a long time after 1945 and differ from the wartime ones in details of equipment and external fittings.
This is a conversion set: additional parts with which the model is modified from the wartime form to the Swiss post-war G-13 version. According to the name it is intended for the Tamiya kit in 1:48 scale. Which kit parts are replaced and what has to be cut away is stated in the manufacturer's instructions included in the package.
With a conversion it pays to go through the whole set of instructions first and only then reach for the knife, because the order of the modifications matters more here than in an ordinary build. Try the parts dry first. Cut the excess material and the traces of manufacture away with a sharp blade a little distance from the part and carefully sand off the remainder, and level the mating surfaces flat. The suitable glue is stated in the manufacturer's instructions. Before painting, wash and degrease the whole assembly.
The set is for modelers who want to build a post-war Swiss machine and will not settle for the wartime form from the base kit. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
