It is an accessory for a kit and not a model. What the manufacturer gives on the packaging of the sheet and the instructions supplied are what decide.
Sheets of this kind are built for a collection, not for one model. Eight decades of service by one unit mean several generations of equipment, and from such a sheet a modeler can build a coherent line of machines linked by their belonging to the same squadron. The practical advantage is consistent printing quality and color across the whole group, which can never be achieved with decals from different boxes.
Unit emblems tend to be more saturated in color than ordinary national insignia and give themselves away easily on a model through a glossy carrier film. The key is the final clear coat: once the decals are dry, spray the whole model with a thin coat of varnish at the level of sheen that matches the subject. A matte coat unifies the surface best; with more modern equipment a semi-matte is in order. Spray in several light coats, as a heavy coat of matte varnish can dull a saturated emblem color and blur its edges.
