Eduard 1:48 Hurricane Mk. IIc TFace is a set of masks for a model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc, cut for masking the glazing from both sides.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc in 1:48 scale. The TFace designation means that the masks are prepared for the inner side of the glazing as well. The set is an add-on for the build; on its own it is not a model.
Against later fighters the Hurricane has a cockpit put together from a larger number of flat panes separated by fairly thick frames, and on top of that a bulletproof windscreen and glazing behind the pilot's head. Scoring so many straight strips of tape by hand is lengthy and inaccurate, and every extra millimeter shows on a model in 1:48 scale. A pre-cut mask shortens that work to a few minutes and all the frames come out the same width. The Mk.IIc version differs from the earlier Hurricanes above all in the armament in the wings, but the shape of its cockpit is typical of the whole line.
Work with sharp tweezers and take the masks by the edge, not by the face. When a mask is tiny, it helps to moisten the tip of the tweezers slightly. Once applied, run a toothpick along every strip so that it seats in the corner of the frame. Do the inner sides first and let them dry thoroughly, and only then build the part in. Spray the paint in two passes and take the masks off shortly after it has dried to the touch.
