A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard intended to refine a plastic model of the Il-2 ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The set contains fine photo-etched parts of thin metal sheet which replace or complete plastic components simplified in shape. It is not a model on its own but an accessory for an existing kit.
The Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik was a Soviet single-engine ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War. It became known for its exceptional toughness thanks to the armored bath around the engine and the pilot and became one of the most-produced combat aircraft in history. It was used to attack ground targets, columns and armored vehicles.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a glass surface and make the bends in a bending tool or between two rulers. Use cyanoacrylate glue or a glue made for photo-etch. Degrease the parts before painting; small flat pieces hold well on a base coat.
This is a supplementary set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
