1:72 F-16 with the F100-PW engine, closed exhaust nozzles is a resin set from Reskit meant for a model of the Fighting Falcon. These are replacement parts for a kit, not a model of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory replaces the exhaust nozzle on a model of the single-engined F-16 in 1:72 scale, in the form for the Pratt & Whitney F100 series engine. The form is closed, that is, with a narrowed exit area. This item is not a kit; it is bought for a model you already have. On the F-16 the nozzle is exceptionally exposed, because the machine has a single engine and the whole end of the fuselage converges into the nozzle, so practically all of it is visible from behind.
The F-16 was built in versions with two different families of engines, and the external shape of the exhaust nozzle differs between them. This set is meant for machines with the F100 engine from Pratt & Whitney, not for the versions with the General Electric engine. The difference is clearly apparent on a model, so it is the first thing to check on a particular machine, even before choosing between the open and the closed position. The closed form matches narrowed petals, as seen on machines in certain engine settings.
Wash the part in warm water with detergent and let it dry. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface wet on sanding paper on glass. On a single-engined machine the seating is critical, because the alignment with the fuselage has to be watched, so try it dry and glue it only after painting, with super glue. Build the metal surface on a gloss black base and apply the heat staining rather sparingly and evenly around the circumference. Inside the nozzle a lighter matte shade comes in handy, contrasting with the metal outside and optically deepening the duct.
This is a resin accessory, not a model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
