A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the German Ju 87B-2 dive bomber and its R-2 version. The extent of the parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ju 87 is a German dive bomber of the Second World War, unmistakable for its inverted gull wing, its fixed landing gear in streamlined fairings and its two-man crew seated back to back. Under the wing it carries dive brakes, which keep the speed within bounds during a dive. The B-2 version is a later production form of the basic B series, and the R-2 version grew out of it and was adapted for longer range with auxiliary fuel tanks under the wing.
Photo-etched parts from thin metal sheet, which replace or supplement details on a model in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch can capture thin sheet elements, instrument panels, belts and grilles in a thickness that no plastic part comes near. The exact extent of the set, the placement of the individual parts and the kit the set is cut for are given in the instructions the manufacturer supplies.
Cut the parts off the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than with nippers; then level the place where the tab was with a file. Use a bender for bending, or at least two straight jaws, and bend the edge in one movement and all at once, because repeated bending cracks the metal. They are glued with super glue laid on in a minute amount on the tip of a toothpick; cement for polystyrene has no effect on metal. Degrease the parts before painting and put a primer on, or the finish will not hold on the smooth metal.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
