Eduard 1:48 Ki-61-Id seat belts STEEL are pre-colored photo-etched safety belts in steel for filling out the cockpit of the model of a Japanese fighter aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but a supplementary set of pre-colored photo-etched seat belts in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It belongs to the steel STEEL line: the belts are etched from thin steel sheet and printed with colors from the factory, including the stitching and the fittings. Once separated from the fret they only need bending into shape and seating in the seat. Steel holds a bend more faithfully than brass, so the belts come across as naturally draped over the edge of the seat.
The Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (the Allied designation Tony) was a Japanese fighter aircraft of the Second World War, singular for its liquid-cooled V engine, which gave it a slender aerodynamic nose recalling European fighters. The Ki-61-I version was the most widespread production variant.
Separate the belts with a sharp knife on a surface and clean them up. Use a photo-etch bending tool or two blades for the bending. They are glued with super glue laid on in a micro drop. The color print can be gently brought out with a dark wash in the details.
This is an accessory for a cockpit, not a model in its own right. Glue and a kit are not included in the package.
