The L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer from the Aero Vodochody works. The crew sit in tandem, and the instructor's rear seat is raised for a view forward over the student's head. The ZO form is the armed version intended for weapons training, with pylons under the wing. The Albatros spread to dozens of countries and still flies today, so the choice of interesting color schemes is really wide.
It is an accessory for the L-39ZO kit in 1:48 scale, to which the manufacturer adds paint masks. The add-on parts refine the shape where a series-produced kit stays modest, and the masks then make sharp transitions between shades and the covering of glazing easier. Which parts the package holds and in what order they are fitted is given in the instructions enclosed with the set; the name of the item does not specify it.
Try the parts dry first and fit them before you close the assembly up. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the remainder. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; super glue will serve universally. Wash and degrease the whole model before painting. Apply the masks to a clean and dry surface before spraying, and press the edges down firmly with a toothpick so that paint cannot seep under them. Spray in thin coats and take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch; after a longer time it comes away less easily and may pull the edge of the finish off.
The add-on set with masks is supplied. The aircraft model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
