A photo-etched set for the interior fittings of a model of the four-engined Avro Lancaster bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Avro Lancaster was a British four-engined heavy bomber of the Second World War and the main machine of the night raids over Germany. It was powered by Merlin engines, that is, V12 engines, and its long undivided bomb bay let it carry even the exceptionally large bombs that other types could not manage. The crew numbered seven men spread along the whole length of the fuselage, so the inside of the machine was not just a pilot's cockpit but a row of stations one behind the other.
The name indicates parts etched from thin sheet metal and limits them to the interior fittings. Sheet can be made as thin as the scale would call for in reality, which cannot be achieved in injection-molded plastic; it shows on instrument panels, belts, levers and thin walls, which in plastic are necessarily more massive. On a bomber it pays off twice over, because the glazing is extensive and you can see inside from several directions. The extent of the parts and their position are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and level the remains of the tab with a fine file. Make the bend in the marked groove over a straight edge or in a bending tool, always in one movement; bending back and forth cracks the sheet. You join metal with super glue, on larger surfaces with epoxy; cement for polystyrene does not hold on it. Assemble and paint the interior before you glue the fuselage halves together, because afterwards you will not get inside. Before painting, wash the sheet, degrease it and lay down an undercoat.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
