A resin cockpit set from the Aires brand in 1:48 scale, intended to raise the detail of a plastic kit of the Lavochkin La-5 fighter in the more capable F and FN versions. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory. The set replaces the plastic cockpit tub with a more faithful casting with an instrument panel, side equipment and a seat.
The Lavochkin La-5F and La-5FN were improved variants of the La-5 fighter of the Second World War with a modified radial engine of higher output and a better view from the cockpit thanks to the cut-down rear fuselage on the later machines.
Wash the resin parts to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Paint the cockpit with an airbrush and bring out the instruments and the belts with a wash and a dry brush. Dry-fit the parts before the fuselage is closed.
This is an accessory for a kit. The aircraft model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
