A loose scenery material from the Czech manufacturer Model Scene. The package holds laser-cut paper leaves with the heart-shaped, slightly asymmetric outline of a linden leaf, colored into dry ocher and brown tones. This is dry fallen foliage, not a finished tree: the modeler builds litter on the terrain or foliage on their own armature from it.
The linden is one of the typical trees of the Czech landscape — it grows by wayside chapels and shrines, on village greens, at farmsteads and in cemetery and manor avenues. Dry linden litter therefore suits village and small-town scenes, park corners and avenues along roads perfectly. On terrain it fits ditches, walls and fences, the gaps between cobbles and roofs; the fine shape of the leaf reads faithfully even in a close-up.
Sprinkled foliage is fixed with thin white PVA glue diluted with water and a drop of dish soap from a sprayer. Onto a tree armature the leaves are applied in layers into tacky glue, a section at a time, so that the mass of the crown can be shaped. The dry look is helped by a final matte overspray and a discreet dusting of ocher pigment. Varying the density and lightly layering different shades of foliage gives a scene natural depth.
The material is supplied as loose foliage. The glue, the tree armature and any further scenery accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
