A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale with markings of single-seat F-16C combat aircraft. The package contains a printed decal film and instructions with the schemes for placement, and the model and paints are not part of it. The name of the sheet is brief and gives neither the particular machines nor the users, so before buying compare what the manufacturer gives on the packaging with the variant you want to build.
The F-16 is a single-engined multirole combat aircraft with a bubble canopy, a side-stick controller and a seat reclined to the rear. The C version is single-seat and went through a series of changes of equipment during production, so the machines differ from one another in the details of the nose, the tail surfaces and the stores. The type is widespread with dozens of air forces and mostly carries low-contrast gray camouflage, with which the subdued markings merge into the surface.
With modern gray machines the order of work is essential. Decals belong on gloss varnish still before any weathering: first the base paint, then the gloss, the decals, their maturing and only after that a wash into the engraved lines and the emphasizing of the panels. Anyone who lets the wash go first will draw the colorant under the edge of the film and create a dark frame around the markings that can no longer be removed. Between the decals and the weathering it also pays to interleave a thin separating coat of varnish, so that any wash can be wiped off safely.
A decal sheet is not a kit. It does not contain the model, paints or glue. The particular variants and the contents of the sheet are given on the packaging.
