Eduard 1:48 Lockheed P-38J Lightning LööKplus is an extended accessory set of the LööKplus range for a model of the American twin-boom fighter in 1:48 scale.

It is not a kit of the aircraft but a bundle of accessories for a model you have already bought. The LööKplus range is based on the LööK range, that is on a finished colored instrument panel with seat belts, and extends it with further accessories for the same model. It brings together in one package several sets that are also sold separately. The manufacturer is the Czech company Eduard from Obrnice near Most. The make-up of the bundle differs from model to model, so check it on the packaging.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engined fighter with the unusual design of two booms and a central nacelle for the pilot. The engines were fitted with turbochargers, which gave the aircraft good performance at great altitudes, and the armament concentrated in the nose allowed firing without convergence. The P-38J version received modified radiators in the leading edges of the inner wing sections, recognizable by the deeper intakes under the engines. The machine served in the fighter, escort and reconnaissance roles.
The colored parts from this range are usually not repainted, as you would lose the fine printing. The original plastic panel as a rule has to be removed or sanded off; try it dry and take the material away a little at a time. Glue with a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue, and with printed parts a drop of gloss varnish, which leaves no white bloom, will serve as well. Leave the seat belts slightly curved and thrown over the edge of the seat. Wash any resin parts free of remains of release agent first and cut the casting blocks off with a saw, not with cutters.
It is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
