This resin set from Aires replaces the moving control surfaces of a model of the Italian Macchi C.202 fighter in 1:48 scale, in the variant matching early production. It is not a model of an aircraft but a refining accessory. The set brings the ailerons, the elevator and the rudder with faithfully drawn ribbing and with the option of fitting them in a deflected position.
The Macchi C.202 Folgore was an Italian fighter of the Second World War period with an inverted V12 engine derived from a licensed Daimler-Benz. It was marked by clean aerodynamics, good agility and speed. Some design details differed between early and late production, the rendering of the control surfaces among them.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off carefully and sand the surfaces with breathing protection. Deflected control surfaces bring a static model to life; before gluing, check the correct shape matching the early version. Use cyanoacrylate for gluing.
