The New Ware 1:48 Mask He-111 H-16 BASIC is a cut self-adhesive mask in the basic scope. It deals with the most laborious part of building this twin-engine aircraft, that is the extensive glazing of the nose.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cut self-adhesive masks for building the twin-engine He 111 bomber in the H-16 version. The BASIC designation describes the scope of the set: it is the basic variant, centered on the glazing. That is the key part on this type, because the fully glazed nose holds a great many irregularly shaped panes and masking them by hand is one of the most tedious parts of the whole build.
The Heinkel He 111 was a twin-engine bomber with a characteristic elliptical wing. The later H line differs from the earlier versions above all in its fully glazed, asymmetrically arranged nose with no separate pilot's canopy. The H-16 version belongs to the late production batches of the H line and carried revised defensive armament. It is that intricate glazed nose which makes this machine a model where a mask set pays off more than on most other types.
Cutting dozens of irregular frames out of adhesive tape by hand is an evening's work and the result tends to be asymmetrical. A ready-made mask keeps the frame width constant, matches the shape of the part and lets you spray the frames in exactly the same shade as the airframe around them. Work by lifting the pieces off with tweezers, laying them on a degreased surface and pressing the edge down with a toothpick. Apply the paint in thin coats and remove the mask shortly after it has dried.
The set is tailored to one specific kit, the ICM 48263. It is not a model or a kit, and paints are not included in the package.
