1:48 Mask Il-2 Shturmovik mod.1943 EXPERT is the widest level of the masking set for the Soviet Il-2 ground attack aircraft in the mod. 1943 version in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an aid for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains pre-cut self-adhesive masking stencils for a model of the Il-2 ground attack aircraft in the mod. 1943 version in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit, nor a part you would glue to the model. The stencils are stuck onto a built but still unpainted model, sprayed over and taken off once the paint has dried, which gives sharp transitions and straight frames around the glazing.
The masking sets in this range are graded by the extent of coverage. BASIC is the basic level, EXPERT the widest version of the same set. The difference lies in how many areas of the model you get pre-cut, not in the quality of the material or the precision of the cut. The exact list of parts is not stated here; check it on the box.
The Il-2 is a single-engine ground attack aircraft with an armored forward fuselage that was at the same time the load-bearing structure of the airframe. The form designated mod. 1943 is the later two-seat version with a rear gunner. The glazing of this cockpit has many short frames and several planes, which makes it one of the most laborious places on the whole model.
The set does not contain a kit, paints or glue. Before buying, check that the masks match the kit you are building.
