The extended mask set from the Czech manufacturer New Ware for plastic models of the fighter-bomber Su-17M4 Fitter-K. The set in kabuki tape, in the ADVANCED level, builds on the basic masks for the cockpit, the clear parts and the wheels and adds masks for further features, such as seals and small frames. The pre-cut shapes make sure the edges are crisp without cutting by hand directly on the model.
The Su-17 was a Soviet single-seat fighter-bomber with a variable-geometry wing, derived from the earlier Su-7 type. The M4 version was the most advanced variant of the range, with modernized avionics, and it became the backbone of Soviet tactical aviation in the 1980s. Export forms carried the designation Su-22. The cockpit and a number of clear parts give masking plenty of scope.
Apply the masks onto a degreased and smooth finish. The pre-cut parts fit the frames and the small features exactly, so cutting with a knife is done away with. Kabuki tape adapts to curved surfaces and once the work is done it can be removed without adhesive residue. Cover large open areas with ordinary tape or film before spraying.
This is a masking accessory, not an airplane model. Paints, glue and the model itself are not included in the package.
