The Eduard 1:48 resin wheel set for the F-4B Phantom replaces the plastic wheels of a model with precise cast resin with fine detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an add-on resin set of replacement wheels from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, the Brassin range, in 1:48 scale. It is NOT an aircraft kit but a set of precisely cast wheels that replaces the plastic parts of the kit. The castings have crisper tread and rim detail than injection-molded plastic allows. A mask for painting the tires is usually included in the set.
The McDonnell F-4B Phantom II was an American two-seat supersonic multirole fighter, and in the B version it served mainly with the Navy and the Marine Corps. The landing gear of this heavy aircraft carried sturdy wheels, and rendering them faithfully contributes markedly to the overall impression a model makes.
First wash the castings to remove the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutter on a hard surface and sand with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Lay down a primer suitable for resin before painting. The tread can be brought out with light drybrushing and dirt from the ground.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
