1:48 McDonnell F-4C Phantom air brakes is a photo-etched set of air brakes from Eduard for models of the F-4C Phantom II fighter-bomber. An accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set of air brakes in 1:48 scale for models of the McDonnell F-4C Phantom II. It replaces the flat plastic parts of the brakes with realistic metal elements with fine structure and makes it possible to show the brakes in the deployed position. This is an accessory from the Czech maker Eduard, not a model in its own right.
The Phantom II had its air brakes placed on the lower part of the fuselage; their deployment is among the favorite details when showing the machine on the ground or in the landing configuration. The F-4C was the first production version of the Phantom for the US Air Force.
Cut the parts out with a sharp knife and make any bends on a bender. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting, degrease the metal and apply primer. Deployed brakes call for a little cleaning up of the mating surfaces on the model.
The set contains photo-etched parts only. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
