1:48 McDonnell F-4G Phantom is a Big Ed bundle of accessory sets from the Czech firm Eduard, intended for a model of the American F-4G Phantom II aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a model of an aircraft but a bundle of accessories. Big Ed brings together in one package several sets that are also sold separately, all of them for one type. The modeler thus gets together what the brand has issued for the aircraft in question. The exact make-up of the package is given by the manufacturer with the particular item.
The F-4G Phantom II was the American specialist in the suppression of hostile air defenses, nicknamed Wild Weasel. It came about by the conversion of two-seat machines of the F-4E version: in place of the cannon in the nose it was given an extensive suite of sensors able to pinpoint a transmitting radar, and in the rear cockpit sat an electronic warfare officer, whose work was decisive for the success of a mission. The armament was made up of anti-radiation missiles. The F-4G came fully into its own during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, when the Phantoms opened the way for the other formations. What is characteristic of it is precisely the elongated nose with the housings of the antennas, which differ from an ordinary Phantom at first sight.
The accessories are fitted into a model you already have and replace or complete the factory parts. On the Phantom most of the detail is concentrated in the two cockpits and in the landing gear bays, so plan the order of the work in advance: some of the parts will get inside only before the fuselage is closed up. Try every part dry first and only then fix it in place.
