A masking set for painting a Messerschmitt Bf 109 E model in the E-1, E-3, E-4 and E-7 versions in 1:48 scale, designated as the first part.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 in the E version is among the best-known fighters of the Second World War and it is the form in which the machine went into the fighting over France and over Britain. The angular cockpit glazing, the sharply cut wingtips and the slim fuselage make the Emil an aircraft recognizable at first glance. The E-1, E-3, E-4 and E-7 versions differed from each other mainly in armament and equipment; the E-7 could already carry a rack under the fuselage, which widened the range and the possible uses of the machines.
The masking set in 1:48 scale serves for painting a Bf 109 E model. The designation of the first part says that this is one item from a larger whole which the manufacturer divided into parts. The exact scope of the set and the recommended placing of the individual masks are given in the instructions in the package.
The masks are glued on before spraying, onto a finished, dry and degreased surface. Press the edges down along their whole length, otherwise the paint will run underneath and the edge will blur. Spray at right angles and in several thin coats; one heavy coat will draw itself under the edge and a ridge will stay once the mask is off. Take the mask off at the moment the paint is dry to the touch and pull it back over itself at an angle. Before you start, try the seating dry, because the shapes may differ between individual kits.
For builders of German fighters in 1:48 scale who prefer sprayed edges to outlining by hand. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
