This set is a resin accessory in 1:72 scale, not a model in its own right. It replaces the exhaust nozzle of an F-8 Crusader plastic kit with a faithful resin casting carrying fine detail on the nozzle petals and the inner wall. The set is meant for experienced modelers who want to take the nozzle beyond the level of the molding from the box.
The Vought F-8 Crusader was an American supersonic carrier fighter of the Navy, powered by a turbojet with afterburner. Its hallmark was a variable-incidence wing for takeoff and landing on a carrier. It proved itself as a day fighter and as a photo-reconnaissance machine.
This is a resin casting for advanced builders. First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off carefully and clean up the cut surfaces, always with your airways protected. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); dry-fit the surfaces before you fix them. Dry-fit the seating as well and tune the transition to the plastic with filler and sanding.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. The aircraft kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
