Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 fighter in tropicalized form, in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model captures the desert Trop variant flown in North Africa, which differs from the standard Emil above all in the dust filter over the supercharger intake. The kit is laid out as an easy build, with finely engraved panel lines. The exact contents of the box, that is the number of decal options, should be checked against the designation of this item given by the manufacturer.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was the main Messerschmitt version at the start of the Second World War. It was powered by the inverted V12 Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine, and the E-4 series was marked by heavier armament with wing cannon. Tropicalized E-4/Trop machines reached North Africa from 1941, where dust and sand called for a filter over the intake and for period desert survival gear.
Cut the parts from the sprue and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Paint the cockpit interior and pick out the detail before the fuselage is closed. Lay down a primer and apply the paints ideally with an airbrush; add chipped paint and fine traces of wear to the desert schemes in sand and brown-green shades, in keeping with service in a harsh environment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
