The Mi-2 is a light twin-engine helicopter whose production ran in Poland. It is powered by two turboshaft engines mounted above the cabin; thanks to them it was considerably more capable than its piston-engine predecessors while staying small and undemanding. It was used for carrying people and cargo, for training, in ambulance and agricultural service and with the armed forces of a number of countries including Czechoslovakia. Many forms were built, differing in cabin equipment and fit.
A plastic model of the helicopter in 1:48 scale to be assembled and painted. The number of parts, the choice of finishes and the recommended shades are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
The cabin is extensively glazed and you can see into it from both sides, so it pays not to be sparing with time on the interior and to finish it before you close the fuselage. Glue the clear parts with a cement meant for glazing, as cyanoacrylate will fog them. Fit the main rotor at the very end, so that it does not get in the way while you work, and before the glue hardens check that the blades lie in the same plane; a bent rotor shows at a glance on a finished model. The underside of the fuselage and the landing gear can take a little dust and some oil traces, which will bring the model to life.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
