The Mil Mi-4 was a Soviet helicopter of the 1950s with a piston radial engine in the nose, a four-blade main rotor and a tail rotor on the tail boom. It was created as an answer to the American Sikorsky H-19, but was larger and could carry more, and it served in transport, airborne assault and civil roles. The armed Mi-4AV version carried an A-12.7 machine gun in an under-fuselage gondola and rocket pods and anti-tank guided missiles on side pylons; it ranks among the early Soviet gunship helicopters. The rounded nose with the engine bay and the tall tail boom are characteristic.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with thin modeling cement for plastic. Glue the cockpit glazing carefully with canopy cement so that the plastic does not cloud, and mask it before spraying. Assemble the multi-blade main rotor and the tail boom carefully to get the geometry right. Paint the interior before you close the fuselage. After the gloss coat and the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add the underslung armament and fine wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
