Seat belts for a model of the MiG-17F aircraft in 1:48 scale. They replace belts molded straight onto the plastic seat, or add them where the kit has none. The belts are one of the few cockpit elements that stay visible even once the canopy is closed, so it pays to spend time on them.
The designation in the name shows that the parts are made of steel. Steel sheet holds the shape you bend it into, so a strap can be folded over the edge of the seat or left to drape freely over the side and it will stay in that position. That is exactly what turns the belts into a detail that looks alive on a model, instead of looking like a glued-on strip of metal.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and pick them up with tweezers by the flat, not by the edge. Shape them gradually, as metal does not like repeated bending in one place. They are bonded with super glue in the amount that will sit on the tip of a pin; a bigger drop floods the strap and runs across the seat. Bend the buckles to a slight angle. Fit the belts to the seat before you set it into the fuselage, as there will be no room for it in a finished cockpit.
For builders of the MiG-17F model in 1:48 scale. The MiG-17 is a Soviet subsonic fighter of the 1950s that entered service with dozens of users, and the MiG-17F version is the one with an afterburner. Whether the belts fit the seat of a particular kit is stated in the instructions of the set. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
