This resin cockpit set in 1:48 scale from SBS Model raises the level of detail in the cockpit of a model of the Soviet MiG-19 PM fighter. It is an accessory, not a complete model. The resin parts replace the simplified interior from the base kit with a more faithfully cast cockpit.

The real subject

The MiG-19 was the first production Soviet fighter able to hold supersonic speed in level flight. The PM version was an interceptor variant armed with guided air-to-air missiles and without gun armament. The aircraft served in many Warsaw Pact countries and beyond.

Building and painting tips

Wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the interior before closing up the fuselage, and bring out the instrument panel and the levers with a wash and dry-brushing.
