This resin detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale replaces the simple plastic cockpit of a MiG-23ML model with a complete, finely detailed interior. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory containing the cockpit tub, the instrument panel, the side consoles, the control stick and the ejection seat. The set is intended for more experienced modelers who want a faithful view into the pilot's space.
The MiG-23ML, NATO reporting name Flogger-G, was an upgraded and lightened version of the Soviet MiG-23 fighter with a variable-geometry wing. Compared with the older variants it had a more powerful engine, a lightened airframe and more modern avionics, which improved both agility and range. The machine spread to the Soviet Air Force and to a number of friendly air forces.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Separate them from the casting blocks by cutting, not by snapping, and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Sand the resin with respiratory protection or wet. Spray the interior with a base coat and bring out the instruments and the panels with a wash, drybrushing and spot highlights.
It is supplied as an unglued and unpainted resin set. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
