A resin detail set, not an aircraft kit. The set of finely cast resin sharpens the spherical sensor ahead of the cockpit of the Soviet Mikoyan MiG-29 fighter (Fulcrum in the NATO code) in 1:48 scale. It is the housing of the infrared search sensor and the laser rangefinder, a strikingly shaped feature on the upper side of the nose. The resin part captures the clean spherical shape and the optical window more faithfully than the plastic in the box. The set is intended for more advanced modelers with experience of resin.
The spherical sensor ahead of the windshield is one of the recognition marks of the MiG-29 and it is always in view. Its clean shape and a faithful optical window fundamentally affect the realistic impression of the nose. The casting replaces the simplified plastic part, and once painted, especially with a clear element imitating the optics, it gives a model the authentic look of a modern fighter.
