This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale depicts the Slovak upgraded version of the MiG-29 fighter, designated MiG-29AS. The model has finely engraved panel lines, a clear cockpit part and usually decals for the colorful Slovak scheme as well. Academy is a South Korean manufacturer popular for the balance it strikes between detail and buildability.
The MiG-29 (Fulcrum in the NATO code) is a Soviet twin-engined fourth-generation frontline fighter. The Slovak Air Force upgraded its aircraft to the MiG-29AS standard with avionics compatible with NATO, so that they could operate within the alliance. These aircraft also became known for their striking commemorative camouflage schemes at air shows.
We recommend equipping and painting the cockpit before closing up the fuselage; the simple interior will appreciate an aftermarket addition. Join the plastic with a thin cement and sand the joints. Apply a primer, spray the shades with an airbrush and pick out the panel lines with a wash. Use a gloss varnish under the decals so that they do not silver, and even out the surface with a final varnish to the gloss you want.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
