Photo-etched metal accessories in 1:48 scale for a model of the carrier-based fighter MiG-29K. The metal features replace the places where a plastic part would come out too thick.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-29K is the carrier-based variant of the MiG-29 fighter, modified for operation from an aircraft carrier. What sets it apart from the land-based versions are the folding wing panels, strengthened landing gear and an arrestor hook for landing on deck. It is a multipurpose machine that handles combat against air targets as well as strikes on targets on the ground and on the water.
The package carries photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the MiG-29K. Photo-etched parts suit all the places where the material should be genuinely thin: small plates, stiffeners and grilles, where injection-molded plastic reads as oversized. Which parts the set brings and where they belong on the model is described in the instructions from the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade a little away from the edge and sand what remains of the tab carefully with a fine file. For bending, use a photo-etch bending tool or two flat pairs of tweezers, and make the bend in one go along the whole length of the edge. You join metal with super glue, and on larger mating surfaces with epoxy; polystyrene glue has nothing to melt here. Before painting, degrease the surfaces and lay a thin primer under them, otherwise the paint will not take hold on the smooth surface.
The set belongs to a modeler who sets store by small work and does not mind working with tweezers over small parts. It also suits a build where you want to open up or pick out only selected areas. The contents of the delivery follow the information from the manufacturer; the kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
