The Mi-35 is the export form of the Soviet Mi-24V attack helicopter, a machine that combined attack firepower with space for troops. Pilots nicknamed it the flying tank and in the West it was given the reporting name Hind. The crew consists of a weapons operator in front and a pilot at a raised station behind him, each under his own armored canopy. It is precisely these two separate cockpits with completely different equipment that make the interior of this type an unusually laborious part of the build.
The set brings color elements with relief printing on a backing that is applied as a decal. The instrument panels of both stations, the side consoles, the levers and the harness belts therefore only need to be soaked off and seated. Do not use a decal softener, though, because it would attack the resin relief print. The Small Version marking means a narrower selection than in the full set, focused on what is most visible, and the scope matches that.
Intended for: Mi-24 and Mi-35 kits from the company Trumpeter in 1:48. On a model of other origin the elements will have to be shortened and adapted.
The recommended order of work: first spray the cockpit with a base color, then seat the elements and finally unify the whole with a semi-flat varnish. Under the glazed canopies the relief then shows beautifully.
Something about the service of the machine: the type came about in the 1970s and since then has taken part in fighting on several continents. Dozens of countries operated it and in many places it flies to this day, though with upgraded avionics. The combination of a combat helicopter and a transport space has stayed rather an exception in this category, and that is exactly why the machine has a lasting popularity among modelers and why its cockpit has received extraordinary attention from makers of accessories.
