This pack belongs to a range in which the Czech maker Eduard brings several of its separate accessory sets for one type together in a single box. These are therefore accessories for a model of the Mil Mi-4 helicopter in 1:48 scale, not a kit of the machine itself. The model has to be bought separately. The advantage of such a pack is that you do not have to put the individual sets together yourself and have the certainty that they are cut for the same type and scale.
The Mil Mi-4 is a Soviet multirole helicopter with a piston engine mounted in the nose and a cargo hold with rear clamshell doors. It was used in the transport, liaison and medical roles as well as in civil operation, and in a number of countries it was among the first helicopters used in larger numbers. The crew cabin sits high above the cargo hold, so the interior and the glazing are among the most visible places on a model, and that is exactly where accessory sets show most.
Accessories of this type are fitted as the build goes along, not at the very end, so go through the instructions before you start and plan the order of work. Separate fine parts from the carrier fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface rather than with scissors, which would deform them. Make the bends in a bending tool or at least between two blades, and bond with super glue in minute drops. Degrease the surface before painting and use a primer suitable for the material, otherwise the paint will come off during handling. Leave pre-painted parts without further spraying and only bring them out with a dark line.
The accessories are supplied unassembled. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
