A sheet of decals with technical lettering for models of the MiG-21MF and MiG-21bis in 1:48 scale, with the printing in blue. An accessory to the national insignia and personal markings.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-21 is a Soviet single-seat supersonic fighter with a delta wing, one of the most widespread jet aircraft of the postwar era. Dozens of air forces operated it and in Czechoslovakia it was among the basic equipment of the fighter force. The MF and bis versions represent the later and numerous forms, which differ from one another in the shape of the fuselage spine and in their equipment.
The sheet brings technical and maintenance lettering for models of both versions named, in 1:48 scale. These are the small texts and markings that on a real machine identify service panels, filling points and warning instructions. On a model they tend to be the last step of the surface work, and it is they that set a carefully finished build apart from a model carrying only the national insignia.
The lettering comes out best on a smooth gloss surface, so apply it onto a varnished surface rather than directly onto matte paint. Cut the items out closely to the printing, soak them in lukewarm water and once they have released from the backing, slide them off the paper onto the model. Adjust the position with a brush, soak the excess water up and let it dry without touching. On uneven places a softener helps, pulling the decal toward the shape of the surface. Finally varnish the whole model, so that the edges of the decals disappear.
This is an accessory for building a model. The model, paints and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
