Vacuum-formed de Havilland Mosquito B / PR Mk.IV canopy 1:48 (Rob Taurus) is a crystal-clear canopy to replace the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A crystal-clear vacuum-formed (vacuform) cockpit canopy from the Czech maker Rob Taurus, intended to replace the injection-molded part from the kit on models of the twin-engined de Havilland Mosquito in the B Mk.IV bomber and PR Mk.IV photo-reconnaissance versions in 1:48 scale. This is not an aircraft model but a modeling accessory for more faithful glazing. These versions had a glazed nose.
A vacuum-formed part has thinner walls and better clarity than production plastic canopies, so the impression of thick glass disappears. On the glazed nose of the bomber and reconnaissance versions the clarity matters all the more.
Cut the canopy out carefully around its perimeter, sand the edges to size and dry-fit it. It is glued with clear PVA glue or spotted in place with cyanoacrylate so that the surfaces do not fog. Dipping it in a modeling polish increases the clarity. Mask the frames carefully before painting.
This is a clear replacement canopy, not a complete kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
