A decal sheet in 1:48 scale for the P-51D-5 Mustang fighter in Eighth Air Force markings. The extent of the markings and the application procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The P-51D is an American single-seat fighter of the end of the Second World War. It can be told from the older versions at first glance: the teardrop canopy over the cut-down rear fuselage gave the pilot a view in every direction. The D-5 designation belongs to an early production batch of this version. The machines of the Eighth Air Force, which took off from British bases, escorted bomber formations over Germany. It was exactly with them that the markings were worth attention: colored areas on the nose and the tail surfaces made it easier to tell the individual groups apart in the air.
This is a sheet of markings in 1:48 scale. Which particular machines it covers, how many options it offers and how the elements are laid out on the sheet are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Before applying, check in the instructions whether the elements are soaked or whether they are self-adhesive. A soaked self-adhesive film is ruined, whereas a wet decal you forgot about can be returned to the water without consequences. Prepare a smooth, clean and perfectly dried surface; on a matte, rough surface air is trapped under the edge of an element and a light halo then forms around it. Cut the elements out as close to the printing as possible and apply them only onto a dried finish. Once they have dried, seal them with a clear coat, which draws the edges under the surface.
The model, paints, clear coats and application products are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
