A photo-etched accessory set for the model of the OV-10 Bronco aircraft in 1:48 scale. Thin metal parts take the place of shapes that plastic cannot make fine enough.
Responsibility details are not available.
The North American Rockwell OV-10 Bronco is an observation and light attack aircraft with tail booms and a glazed cockpit for two crew members seated one behind the other. It was built for work low over the ground, for a good view and for operations from short strips. It is exactly the large glazed area and the busy cockpit that make the Bronco a model on which every accessory in the cockpit tells at once.
An etching is a thin metal sheet with the parts etched into shape. It is used where a plastic part would have to be needlessly thick because of the way it is made: on thin sheet items, fine stiffeners and small equipment. This set is listed for the OV-10 Bronco aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, never break them out; then level the remains of the tab with a file. Make the bends over a straight edge or in a bending tool and press along the whole length of the bend at once, so that the part does not stay wavy. They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in a small amount, for instance with the tip of a toothpick; polystyrene cement has no effect on metal. Before painting, wash the metal, degrease it and cover it with a base coat, otherwise the finish will not hold on the smooth surface. The exact extent of the set and the recommended order of work are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
